内容介绍 :	Rich man's son Hon Wan-ng falls in love with orphan girl Hung Sau-dan but their union is opposed by Hon's father even though Sau-dan is pregnant. For business reasons, the father forces Wan-ng to marry the daughter of the Ho family, Bing-yin. Wan-ng falls in line. On his wedding day, Sau-dan watches from a distance but is discovered by Bing-yin. Bing-yin demands that Wan-ng promise never to take in a concubine. Watched under the eagle eye of Bing-yin, Wan-ng is unable to visit Sau-dan. She gives birth to a baby boy, Wai-kei. Later, when it is confirmed that Bing-yin is barren, Wan-ng devises a plan to adopt Wai-kei. Sau-dan enters the Hon household to work as a caretaker but she is mistreated by her own son and given the sack. Despondent, she attempts suicide at sea but is saved by a fisherman. Wai-kei, now a grown man, becomes a playboy. He falls in love with dance hall girl Pak Ling. In order to save his son from degeneration, Sau-dan disguises herself as dancehall lady Peacock Hung. Ironically Wai-kei falls in love with her and becomes jealous when Peacock seems emotionally to be pulled towards his father. Having offended a patron in the dance hall, Wai-kei is set upon by an assassin but he kills the man instead. Peacock stands in as the killer and goes to jail. Wai-kei finally learns the truth that he is Peacock's son. Bing- yin dies from an illnes while Sau-dan is released. She finally becomes Wan-ng's wife. (Extracted fromthe film brochure.)
