内容介绍 :	Wong Wan-hin lost his fortune after the war but his snobbish wife, Madam Lau, wants their two daughters, Lai-fan and Oi-ming, to marry into rich families. The two sisters later meet Chan Chi-chiu, a young man of rich circumstances. Since he is afraid that women are only after his money, he fakes his background, posing as a poor teacher. The two sisters are attracted to Chan but their mother forbids them to see him because of his unglamorous background. A broker Chan Biu thinks that Oi-ming is from a rich family and fakes as a high-income earning professional to court her. Madam Lau welcomes Chan Biu and forces Oi-ming to marry him. Oi-ming does not comply and is exiled from the house. Madam Lau now forces Lai-fan to marry Chan Biu. Not willing to sow more discord within the family, Lai-fan agrees even though she is in love with Chi-chiu. After the marriage, Lai-fen seeks out Chi- chiu to explain, only to discover that he is married to Oi-ming. Later, Chan Biu's status is exposed and the marriage is declared a sham. Finally, Lai-fan is persuaded by Chi-chiu and Oi-ming to share their life together. (Extracted from a synopsis published in Wah Kiu Yat Po, 29 April, 1948.)
