内容介绍 : | Young army officer Sima Fung-cho is stationed in the township of Chu Sin and visits his uncle Tsoi Yuk-lun of Willow Village en route. Calling on Tsoi, Fung-cho meets Tsoi's young mistress Tong-lei and falls in love with her. Tong-lei inevitably keeps her distance, leading Fung-cho to return to the town and drown his sorrows in drink, seeking solace with sing-song girl Siu To-hung. Returning to Willow Village, Fung-cho, being called away on army duty, learns that Tong-lei is pregnant with his baby. Taking her lover's farewell, Tong-lei vows to keep the baby and presents Fung-cho with a red ribbon to identify the baby with. At the same time, Siu To-hung is also pregnant with Fung-cho's baby. Fung-cho has no choice but to leave for the front. Twenty years later, Fung -cho returns from the war in search of Tong-lei who has long been driven away from the Tsoi household. Fung-cho's search for Siu To-hung in the brothel is also in vain. Fung-cho intervenes when young lady Ha Mei- mei is being insulted by young cad Wu Hin-chung. Mei-mei later learns that Hin-chung her father Sam-chin are involved with Hin-chung in traitorous activities against the country people. She informs Fung-cho and together, they eliminate the traitors. When Hin-chung wounds Mei-mei, Fung-cho kills him. Sam-chin reveals that Hin-chung is, in fact, Fung-cho's son with Siu To-hung. Having eliminated the traitors, Fung-cho is praised in the newspapers as a national hero. After reading the papers, Madam Ha tells Fung-cho that Ha Mei-mei is his daughter with Tong-lei. The red ribbon is revealed -- the final evidence that unites father and daughter together. (Extracted from the film brochure.) |
