内容介绍 :	Novelist Chan Siu-wah is musician Yeung Tsi-chiu's best friend. Tsi-chiu has adapted one of Siu-wah's novels into an opera entitled "If I Were King". However, both friends lack money to put up a stage production. One day, Tsi-chiu and Siu-wah have lunch in a cafe where they misplace the script. The waitress, Suk-zhen, picks up the script and start reading it, and soon find herself unable to put it down. She brings the script home and leaves a message for the rightful owner to pick it up. Tsi-chiu comes to claim the script and from him, Suk-zhen learns their plans to produce it. Suk-zhen decides to help raise the funds and convinces her admirers includes Ho Hong, a rich businessman, and a rice smuggler, Second Brother Chow, to invest. Second Brother Chow soon finds out that the play is a mockery of rice smugglers and before the opening, imprisons Suk-zhen and members of the cast in order to sabotage the performance. Siu-wah comes to the rescue in the nick of time and the play is performed to full houses while romance ties Tsi-chiu and Suk-zhen together. (Extracted from the film's song brochure.)
