内容介绍 : | Butterfly comes from a noble family in Vietnam but upon her father's death, she is forced to earn her living as a songstress in a brothel. There she meets Yuen Ng-long, who falls in love with Butterfly and wishes to marry her. At this point, a Chinese merchant ship arrives in the harbour for repairs. Wireless operator But Ka-dun and his mate Ma Luk-kap take the chance to visit the brothel. Ka-dun is immediately entranced by Butterfly and she in turn is attracted to Ka-dun. Aware of their intimate relationship, Ng-long becomes furious. Thus, Butterfly is expelled from the brothel. She then marries Ka-dun. However, Ka-dun is soon recalled back to his ship and departs, with Butterfly looking on in tears. Not long after, Butterfly gives birth to a child. Three years pass, Ka -dun has married his fiancee back home. When Ka-dun returns to Vietnam with his bride, an old man in his shipping company tells him that Butterfly has been asking for his whereabouts. He goes to Butterfly's home, trying to explain that his marriage was forced upon him by his parents. But a disheartened Butterfly eventually kills herself with her grandfather's sword.
