内容介绍 :	Chan Lok-sang is the young master of the Bo Wo Pharmacy. One day, he meets a poor girl, Lau Yeuk-sin. Lok-sang takes pity on Yeuk-sin, giving her medicine to cure her mother. She silently falls in love with Lok-sang. Chung Kwai, one of the employees, plots to rob Lok-sang's rich father Chan Sun's fortune by colluding with bandit chief Hung Sui. As the bandits invade the pharmacy, Chan Sun is killed in the struggle. Lok-sang rushes to the scene upon hearing the news but is too late. He finds a jade amulet as his only evidence left behind by his father's killers. At this point, Chan Hung-yan, a young man on business, falls in love with the prostitute Kam-fa. The bandit chief Hung Sui also desires Kam- fa and hires Mang Heung, a "leper girl," to seduce Hung-yan. After spending a night together, Hung-yan contracts her disease. A despondent Kam-fa kills Hung Sui in retaliation. The police investigates and retrieves a jade amulet that pairs the one found earlies. Thus they confirm that Hung Sui is the bandit chief who killed Chan Sun. Kam-fa is put into prison. Hung-yan, goes home on his mother's orders to go through with an arranged marriage. The bride is none other than Yeuk-sin. On their wedding day, Hung-yan's sickness erupts and he is caught in convulsions. As hamed, Hung-yan arranges for his family inheritance to go to Yeuk-sin and his family, and leaves. Yeuk -sin visits Lok-sang, hoping to renew their friendship, but Lok-sang blames her for being ungrateful to Hung-yan. Hung-yan meets Mang Heung on the street, still doing her old tricks and is about to seduce Lok-sang . Hung-yan kills Mang Heung and gives himself up. In a case review, Kam-fa is released from jail. Hung-yan, seeing that his lover is released, commits suicide. Lok-sang and Yeuk-sin are eventually free to marry each other. (Extracted from a synopsis published in Wah Kiu Yat Po, 1948/12/12.)
