内容介绍 :	Prisoner Ching Hon-wah receives a letter from his wife informing him that his mother has died. Hon-wah further learns that his wife has sold herself in order to raise money to bury her brother and that she has followed her master to a place of refuge in the chaos of war. Hon-wah is released when Guilin is occupied. He goes to the grave of his parents to pay his respects and retrospects. Hon-wah and his colleague Fatty Lau have just graduated as electronic engineers . Though having the headmaster's high recommendation, they lose their jobs through the devious machinations of the county chief. To survive, Hon-wah and Fatty Lau's sister Yu-lin are forced to work in the home of the Old Master. At this point, Hon-wah's father falls ill; Hon-wah approaches the Old Master for a loan but is instead given the sack. Hon-wah's last recourse to save his father is to steal money from the Old Master. Unfortunately, he is caught and put into jail. The Old Master craves Yu-lin and forces himself on her. Hon-wah's sister comes to her aid in time, but is being held instead. To protect her chastity, she commits suicide. When Hon-wah is released from jail, he returns home only to see that his mother has gone blind as a result of over-weeping. He also learns of his sister's suicide. An angry Hon-wah seeks the Old Master to extract revenge. With the help of patriots, he unveils the corruption of the Old Master and have him executed. However, though Hon-wah has won some merit in helping to eliminate the corrupted and evil forces, he cannot escape the long hand of the law. He is again arrested and sentenced to jail.
