内容介绍 :	Rich man Wong Tak- neng has lost his wife and only son. Wong's only relatives are his granddaughter Ah Zhen and his daughter-in-law, Madam Chan, a loyal and virtuous woman. Eyeing the rich man's fortune, Wong's nephew Lau Kei introduces his lover Yuk-ying to his uncle hoping that the old man will marry her. Tak-neng and Yuk-ying eventually get married. After their marriage, Yuk-ying conspires to have Madam Chan driven from the house after falsely accusing her of unvirtuous acts. Madam Chan leaves her daughter with the housekeeper Ah Chau, while she herself finds work in a garment factory, living with a distant relatives, Third Aunt. When Tak-neng is away on business in Singapore, Yuk-ying has the chance to meet her lover Lau Kei at home. Ah Chen chances to see this liaison and is beaten up by Yuk-ying. In fear, Ah Zhen decides to run away. She is reunited with her mother in the streets. After Ah Zhen's disappearance, Ah Chau too runs away, afraid of facing the consequences in the Wong household. He too temporarily shelters in Third Auntie's place and manages to seek a job at Chan's factory. Unfortunately, Chan is laid off and is soon evicted for owing the rent. Ah Chau and Ah Zhen are reduced to begging in the streets. Finally, Tak-neng discovers the adulterous affair between Yuk-ying and Lau Kei. The adulterers are arrested when their conspiracy to defraud Wong is exposed. A chastened Wong divides his fortune with Madam Chan to support her in starting a handicraft school for orphans.
