内容介绍 :	An orphan girl, Lam Sin-mui, who has served as a servant girl since childhood. During this time, she and Wu Tang-fong, son of rich man Wu Cho-sang , become attached to each other. In the chaos of war, the two lose touch. Sin-mui is taken in by a medicine vendor. Later, she makes a living by singing in a teahouse. There, she meets Tang-fong and the two rekindle their love. Tang-fong marries Sin-mui against the wishes of his father. Sin-mui gives birth to a son but as the family faces hard times, Tang-fong commits suicide. Cho-sang snatches his grandson away from Sin -mui and rears him up as Wu Tak-hing. When Tak-hing goes to Shanghai to further his studies, he meets his mother again but because of her lowly status, Sin-mui conceals her true identity from Tak-hing. Only when Tak-hing accidentally kills his schoolmate Chow Fat during a fight that Sin-mui acknowledges her son and offers to sacrifice herself as culprit. Tak-hing refuses and surrenders himself to justice. Cho-sang regrets his past act and welcome Sin-mui back as pant of the family.
