内容介绍 : Kid Cheung, an orphan who sells comic books in a slum to survive, has a brother and sister who are reliant on him. The children and uncle Ho, a former teacher and the children's guardian, are interdependent on each other. One day, Uncle Ho brings Hung Pak-ho, boss of a drapery factory, to visit the slum. A ruffian in Flash Knife Lee's gang steals Pak-ho's wallet and his daughter So-mui's gold necklace. Cheung helps Flash Knife Lee evade the police and is rewarded with the gold necklace. The kid, thus, looks up to Flash Knife Lee as a mentor. Uncle Ho brings Cheung to the Hung house to return the gold necklace. Uncle Ho is rewarded with a job as Pak-ho's secretary, while Cheung enters school on Pak-ho's commendation. However, Cheung is bullied by classmates, and, after a fight in which he beats up the bullies, is expelled. He then works as an apprentice in Pak-ho's factory. Pak Ho's eldest son Boaster Chiu is the manager of the factory. Boaster Chiu and Short-sighted Tsui run an illegal racket selling off the factory's products for their own benefit. Boaster Chiu successfully pulls the wool over his father's eyes. He also colludes with Flash Knife Lee's ruffians to shift his father's suspicion onto the workers. However, the workers, who happen to be on strike in the factory, discover the conspiracy. Coming under bad influence, Cheung turns into a delinquent. Uncle Ho is distressed. Lui Mei, a female worker, talks Cheung into reforming himself. Flash Knife Lee is moved by Mei's words to allow Cheung to return home. She gives Uncle Ho money so that he may bring the children back to the countryside where they will start a new life. (Based on viewing of the film.)
