内容介绍 :	Ah Kwai is a pretty country girl who is suffering from the sexual assaults of local tyrant Man Tai-long. One night, she runs away when Tai-long is asleep, and comes to the city where she finds work as a maid in the household of rich man Moyung Ying. Lau Kai is Ying's butler at the villa. He is attracted to Ah Kwai and seizes every opportunity to be close to her. Meanwhile, Ah Kwai tries to take advantage of Moyung's friendship with the provincial governor, Ka Do, and the commissioner of the Two Lakes District, Tsang Ho. One night, she makes love to a drunk Ying and becomes pregnant. Tai-long comes to the city and lodges a report with the police, accusing Ah Kwai of absconding with money. She is arrested and jailed. In prison, Ah Kwai gives birth to a girl. By coincidence, the baby of the Do's wife has died at birth. To curry favour with Do, Kai comes up with a plan to exchange Ah Kwai's baby with the dead baby, and then to have Ah Kwai exiled to a distant place. Eighteen years pass. Do's daughter, Gwai, is now a beautiful young woman who has fallen in love with Ying. At the same time, Ho harbours desires on Gwai. After eighteen years of disappearance, Ah Kwai turns up. She tries to stop Gwai's incestuous relationship with Ying, but is stabbed by Kai. Before her death, Ah Kwai tells her daughter the truth of her origins. (Extracted from a newspaper synopsis.)
