内容介绍 :	Tung Siu-yuen is a famous courtesan in the late Ming dynasty, who falls in love with scholar, Mo Pik- keung. At that time, Lord of Henan, Hung Sing-chau, is stationed at Jiangnan. Sing-chau, infatuated with the beauty of Siu-yuen, arrests Pik-keung for treason to force her to follow him. Siu-yuen complies reluctantly in order to save her lover. Sing-chau's acquiantance in the Royal Palace, an imperial official, Tung Chu-sek, arrives to inform him of Emperor Shun Chee's intention to regain power from the Empress Dowager. It is heard that the Emperor is devising plans against Sing-chau. Taking the advice of Eunuch Fo Yee, Sing-chau presents Siu-yuen to the Emperor, to please him. Siu-yuen sacrifices her body to the Ching Emperor, in an attempt to lure him to get rid of Sing-chau and Fo Yee. Sing-chau, aware of Siu-yuen's scheme, makes his moves first and falsely alccuses Siu-yuen for criticising the Empress Dowager, who has an affair with him. Empress Dowager is angry and banishes Siu- yuen to a deserted temple, where she lives in a miserable situation. In the temple, Siu-yuen by chance meets Pik-keung's maid and is told that he has already passed away. The ailing Siu-yuen is deeply shocked by the news and her health deteriorates sharply. On her dying bed, she persuades Emperor Shun Chee to work hard on state affairs and to regain his power. (Based on viewing the film.)
