内容介绍 : | A teacher, Mr Wong, and his students go on an outing. They are forced to take shelter in a big mansion during a sudden downpour. The mansion's keeper, Uncle Fook, tells his guests that the house is haunted and proceeds to narrate the story. Pak Wan-fung and Pak Tak-ching are cousins both in love with a singer, Chun Chor-sheung. However, Chor-sheung is more attracted to the upright Wan-fung. An angry Tak-ching tells Wan-fung's father, Pak Yam-chung, that his son is infatuated with a songstress and is neglecting his studies. Yam-chung recalls Wan-fung home and insists that he marry his cousin, Sung Yin-mei. But Wan-fung continues to meet Chor-sheung, forcing Yam-chung to disown him. Tak -ching and his father conspire to have Yam-chung declare Tak-ching his legal heir. A suspicious Yam-chung decides to visit Chor-sheung and learns that she is a decent girl, now pregnant with Wan-fung's child. Yam-chung consents to let his son marry her. On the wedding day, Chor-sheung's mother arrives to inform the congregation that the couple are in fact brother and sister. The mother tells her story that 20 years ago, she worked as a servant in the Pak household and fell in love with Yam-chung. After giving birth to Chor-cheung, she was banished from the house by Yam-chung's wife. Although Uncle Fook claims that Wan-fung is really an adopted son, Tak-ching sways others that the relationship is incest. Wan-fung and Chor-sheung are put in bamboo cages and drownScript Continuity After hearing this story, Mr Wong, who refuses to believe in ghosts, decides to investigate. He finds out that Wan-fung and Chor-sheung are still alive and disguise as ghosts to survive these years. Mr Wong informs Yam-chung, who then has Tak-ching and his father arrested. The wedding of Wan-fung and Chor-sheung is finally held. (Extracted from the film brochure .) |
