内容介绍 :	Sing Kei-yip is a cobbler who comes into a windfall and becomes a tycoon, owning shoe stores and banks. Though married with three children, Kei-yip takes Luk Suet-bing as his mistress, leading to disharmony in the family. The eldest son, Sing Lap, is deep in debt, cheated by money-lender Chin Yu-ming. He begs Suet-bing to lend him money but she seduces him instead. Next, Lap plays up to Yu-ming's mistress, Ng Dip-ying, to get his hands on a large sum of money. In fact, this is a conspiracy of Yu-ming's to rip him off. However, Dip-ying outmanoeuvres Yu-ming and recoups the money. Yu-ming then introduces Lap to escort girl Nam Fung-ying, whom she introduced to his father as an American Chinese. At this point, Dip-ying demands Lap repay his loans. When the conspiracy is revealed, Kei-yip orders Lap to break off relations with Yu-ming. Kei-yip's youngest son, Sing Kung, graduates as a doctor. He marries nurse Yuen Ching-han. Kei-yip entrusts management of his business to Kung and his wife, raising dissatisfaction from the other two sons and their wives. Lap and his other brother, Yan, get involved in smuggling and when caught, implicate their father and Kung, who are arrested and being put in prison. The smuggling frauds are exposed , leading to the confiscation of the Sing's properties. Lap and Yan's families break up. After Kei-yip and Kung are released from prison, Kung and Ching-han set up a clinic. Yu-ming and Dip-ying end up leading a miserable life. (Based on viewing of the film.)
