内容介绍 :	In order to pay off her father's debts, village girl Wong Ying is forced to become a concubine of landlord Shum Pak-fuk. Pak-fuk is also a miser. His bad temper has driven Wong Ying into misery. She has an affair with Lau Kei, an accountant of the house. Meanwhile, Pak-fuk is unhappy with his daughter Shum Fong's relationship with her childhood friend Chung Tai-kwai. One day, Pak-fuk catches sight of Ying's rendezvous with Kei. He secretly orders his nephew, Hing- sang, to hire an assassin to kill both of them. However, the duo manages to poison Pak-fuk before he launches his strikes on them. Hing-sang forges the will and inherits his uncle's fortune. Ying and Kei run away, taking with them gold bars hoarded by Pak-fuk. Fong follows suit. Kei spends all the fortune on a transport company. He becomes rich and famous and is infatuated with a coquette Mary. Seeing Fong grows prettier by the day, Kei secretly craves after the young girl. One night, a drunken Kei rapes Fong. Ying notices their shady relationship and is frequently at odds with her step-daughter. Ying thus plans to send Fong back to the village to marry Tai-kwai. But Fong tells her that she is carrying Kei's child. On a stormy night, when Tai-kwai arrives in town with his father to propose a marriage, Fong gives birth to a son. To cover up the scandal, Kei wants to bury the baby alive in the back yard, but Fong and Ying stop him. Ying is breaking down and reveals her husband's murder. She surrenders herself to the police and divulges that Kei is her accomplice. She finally entrusts Fong and her child to Tai-kwai's care. (Based on viewing of the film )
