内容介绍 :	After the Sino-Japanese War, Yu Kwong and his mate Tam Lung work as hard manual labours in a stone mine. Life becomes more difficult when Yu's wife falls ill after giving birth to a baby. Lung pawns his clothes to foot her medical bills. Later, Yu's wife dies, leaving behind a son, Tai-chi. Yu Kwong works even harder to raise his son. Eighteen years pass. Tai-chi is soon to be graduated from a university. He has two close friends - Kiu Leung and his sister Ching. Another fellow student Cheng Chau-ming, leads Tai-chi astray. He brings Tai-chi to nightclubs and dancehalls. Tai-chi meets a dance girl Hung Ling and soon neglects his studies. The Kius repeatedly advise him against his wanton behaviour, but he does not listen. Kwong, now working part-time as a night trishaw puller, chances to meet his son on the streets, dallying with Ling. The father and son have a row and fall out. After graduation, Tai-chi forsakes his education in mechanical engineering and work in the financial sector. Ling shifts her attention to Wah Yung, the manager of the finance company where Tai-chi works. When Yung knows that Ling and Tai-chi are in love, he frames an embezzlement case against Tai-chi. Tai-chi is arrested and put to jail. He is only released with the help of the Kius who pay off the missing funds with their savings. Tai-chi is determined to redeem himself. He works in the Kiu's agricultural engineering company and buries himself in researches. He wins a prize from the agricultural bureau for his researches. On the prize presentation day, Tai-chi forwards a flag to his father, with the words: "An Exemplary Father." The father and son are thus reconciled. (Extracted from a newspaper synopsis.)
