内容介绍 :	Fung Kwok-fung is a peasant whose proceeds from farming go towards his daughter Mei-chu's education in Hong Kong. Mei-chu falls in love with a young man Kwan Wan-leung but he marries his rich cousin Chiu Fung-yee instead, not knowing that Mei-chu is pregnant. Mei-chu gives birth to a son, Chi-ping, handing the baby over to her sworn sister Chan Yuk-ping to bring up while she herself returns to the village. Mei-chu marries a middle-aged gentleman Cheung Siu-hung and they have a daughter Siu-chu. Not minding her past, Siu-hung accompanies Mei-chu to Hong Kong in search of Chi-ping. As Yuk-ping has married Manager Lee and she has brought Chi-ping along with her, the search becomes futile. Several years pass. Siu-hung dies. Mei-chu and Siu-chu now live in Hong Kong. Siu-chu teaches in a secondary school where the daughter of Wan -leung and Feng-yee, Tsui-zhen and the daughter of Manager Lee and Yuk-ping, Chi-fen are students. Tsui-zhen is secretly in love with Chi-fen's brother Chi-ping. One night, under the influence of drink, Chi-ping makes love to Chui-zhen. Not long after, Wan-leung, Mei-chu and Yuk-ping meet by chance during the school's graduation ceremony. It is only then Chi-ping and Chui-zhen discover they are brother and sister from the same father. Overcome by shame, the couple commit suicide. (Extracted from the film brochure.)
