内容介绍 :	Jinzhi and Yinzhi are two orphan sisters living with their aunt, but because of poverty, the aunt sends Jinzhi off to Beijing to work as a servant girl in the Fang household. Fang Siwei, the master, seduces and rapes Jinzhi. When Jinzhi becomes pregnant, her Fourth Aunt comes forth to talk terms with Fang Siwei who agrees to take in Jinzhi as his concubine . Mrs. Fang, however, returns to plot against Jinzhi and have her driven out of the house while retaining her child, Rifen. Jinzhi goes to Shanghai and meets Deng Shaowen, a cad who persuades Jinzhi to live with him and squanders away her money . Yinzhi seeks refuge from her sister in Shanghai but is used by Deng. He introduces Yinzhi to Mo Shaowen, a young thug who takes away her chastity and finally drives Yinzhi to commit suicide. Jinzhi decides to leave Deng to turn a new leaf by reading up and educating herself. She finds work in a school as its caretaker. Meanwhile, the Fang family has come to Shanghai but Silvei and his wife soon passed. Daughter Rifen is growing up and coincidentally studies in the school where Jinzhi works. The mother and daughter finally re-united. Rifen meets a young man and sets a marriage date. When Jinzhi learns that the young man is none other than Mo Shaowen and at the same time Deng Shaowen also shows up to exploit the situation, she decides to forsake all and goes to an orphanage to serve out her life.(Based on an artide in Wah Kiu Yat Po.)
