内容介绍 :	Madam Chow is the second wife in the Lau family. When the Lau family's eldest son Lau Kwok-ying, son of the first wife, leaves home to study medicine abroad, Madam Chow schemes to have the inheritance passed on to her own son, Kwok -hung. Kwok-hung, however, despises his mother's malice and tears up the will. After his graduation, Kwok-ying is drafted to serve in the army. After several years, he is reunited with wife Ching-han and daughter Siu- fung. Madam Chow conspires with local ruffian Lau Biu to have Kwok-ying killed. In the struggle, Kwok-ying escapes. Kwok-hung picks up clothing belonging to Kwok-ying and believes is dead. On hearing the news, Ching-han and daughter are speechless with grief. Madam Chow further spreads malicious gossip about Ching-han being an adulterer. A mob is about to put Ching-han into a pig's coop and throw her into the river. Kwok-hung intervenes and strives to save Ching -han's life and have her put in jail. Soon after, Kwok-hung joins the air force but Madam Chow is blackmailed by Lau Biu and loses all the family fortune. The war erupts. Ching-han is released from jail and has to survive in the streets. Siu-fung is put into a nusery for children refugees. At this time, Kwok-hung is wounded in a plane accident and stays in hospital. There he meets his half-brother Kwok-ying. After the war, the Lau brothers start practising at the nusery. The singing voice of Siu-fung alerts Kwok-hung and the family is reunited. On their way home by car, they knock down a beggar woman who turns out to be Ching-han. Besides Ching- han's sickbed, Siu-fung's singing voice wakes her from coma. Madam Chow, however, leads an existence on the streets. Kwok-ying, asks Siu-fung to invite Madam Chow home and the Lau Family is once again reunited. (Extracted from the film brochure.)
