内容介绍 :	Country gentleman Chun Shu-chai has two sons: Pak-cheong and Chung-yu. Pak-cheong is married to Lee Hang-kiu but carries on a hot affair with social butterfly Pak Lo. He takes in Pak Lo as his concubine, despite the opposition of his father. Pak Lo intends to take over the running of the home and constantly bullies Hang -kiu. When Shu-chai castigates Pak Lo, Pak-cheong departs with Pak Lo. On hearing the news, Shu-chai falls ill and dies. War erupts. The Chun family declines. After the war, Hang-kiu, her brother Yuk-leung, and Chung-yu are left to carry on. Pak-cheong and Pak Lo have been made bankrupt by the war. Pak Lo becomes a prostitute to make ends meet. Pak-cheong becomes an opium addict, piling up debt. Pak Lo is forced to leave Pak-cheong. Pak Lo later is made blind by a bully. When Hang-kiu learns of this, she hides her identity and takes care of Pak Lo. Not long after Pak-cheong meets his brother Chung- yu. Pak Lo eventually learns the real identity of her benefactor; out of shame, she commits suicide. (Extracted from the film brochure.)
