内容介绍 :	Cheung Pak-to visits his aunt and falls for the orphan girl Kok-nui. He makes love to Kok-nui one night, then leaves her. Kok-nui becomes pregnant and is banished from the aunt's house. She gives birth to twins, the boy named Siu-bun and the girl named Wai. Kok-nui and her children become street performers. The war breaks out and Siu-bun is separated from his mother and sister as they flee. Pak-to, his wife and son, Nim-po, pass by and see Siu-bun all alone. Taking pity on him, they adopt Siu-bun and brings him up. Siu-bun grows up showing greater promise and working hard for his father while Nim-po indulges in fun and revelry. One day, Nim-po is attracted to the singing voice of Wai on the streets. A relationship blossoms and Nim-po takes advantage of Wai when she asks him for help to cure her sick mother. When Pak-to discovers funds missing from his fortune, the culprit Nim-po asks Siu-bun to take the blame. Siu-bun is thus banished from the house. Siu-bun comes across Wai and is told of her affair with Nim-po. Before long, a song helps Siu-bun to recognise Kok-nui and Wai as his kin. Angry over Nim-po's treatment of his sister, Siu-bun brings her and Kok-nui to confront Nim-po. When Pak-to comes out, he sees Kok-nui and immediately suffers a shock to his system. On his deathbed, Pak-to summons Siu-bun and tells him everything, instructing him not to tell anybody else. Pak-to dies. Nim-po, thinking that he is the cause of his father's death, jumps to his death. Siu-bun, his mother and sister leave the house, stepping towards a future of their own.
