内容介绍 :	The Lau family is an illustrious family. Its two sons, Kwun-sheong and Kwun-sui are on the way to the capital, the eldest to carry out business and the youngest, to further his education, leaving behind Mother Lau and the two daughters-in-law, Madam Kam and Madam Cheung. Madam Kam becomes involved with the servant, Jun-fook and uses her influence to sack the honest servant Jun-on. Mother Lau entrusts the family heirloom, the Purple-Misted Cup to Madam Cheung but Madam Kam schemes to have it stolen by Jun-fook. Then she tells Mother Lau that the pregnant Madam Cheung has had an adulterous affair. Madam Cheung is expelled but Jun-fook pays a killer to have her thrown off a cliff. Fortunately she is saved by the loyal maid To-fa. She is taken to the house of Jun-on where she recovers. Madam Cheung gives birth to a son, Kei-kau. The war intervenes and the two brothers lose all communication with their home. Madam Kam learns that Madam Cheung is still alive and has a son. She hires thugs to set their house on fire. To-fa and Kei-Kau are kidnapped and sold off to a distant place. When the war ends, the two brothers start their journey home. On the way, they meet To-fa and Kei-kau. From Jun-on, they know that Madam Cheung is well. The family is reunited. When the schemes of the adulterous Madam Kam are exposed. She commits suicide to escape punishment.
