内容介绍 :	Scholar Cheung Kwun-sui, on his way to the capital to sit for the imperial examinations, passes by Po Kau Temple. There, he meets Tsui Ang-ang, daughter of the prime minister. They secretly fall in love. The rebel general Suen Fei-fu, impressed by Ang-ang during a chance meeting, now sends his army to surround the temple and demands the surrender of Ang-ang. Lady Tsui promises to marry her daughter to the man who can save her from the predicament. Kwun-sui sends word to his sworn brother, General White Horse, who responds and beats off Suen Fei-fu . However, Lady Tsui goes back on her promise, saying that Ang-ang is spoken for by her cousin, Cheng Hang. With the help of Hung Neong, the servant girl, Ang-ang and Kwun-sui has a rendezvous by the West Chamber. When Lady Tsui interrogates Hung Neong, she tells all. Lady Tsui thus agrees for Kwun-sui to marry Ang-ang in case that he wins merit as an imperial scholar. However, Cheng Hang gets wind of this and falsely informs Lady Tsui that Kwun-sui, now the imperial scholar, is to marry Minister Wai's daughter. Lady Tsui thus arranges for Ang-ang's marriage to Cheng Hang, but Hung Neong informs Kwun-sui, who rushes back with General White Horse to stop the marriage. Cheng escapes, while Kwun-sui and Ang-ang at last tie the knot. (Extracted from the film brochure.)
