内容介绍 :	Yau Seong-ping has been brought up by her rich uncle, Leung Chi-keung, since she was a child. She works in a business company where she gets to know Lui Chung-yin. Seong-ping is courted by Pak Lei-chung, son of a rich friend of her uncle . Because Seong-ping remains indifferent to him, Lei-chung is jealous of Chung-yin and causes him to be fired from his job. Seong-ping falls in love with Chung-yin but war breaks out at this point and Chung-yin leaves Hong Kong to join the war in the Mainland. Not long after, Hong Kong is occupied by the Japanese troops and the two lovers lose all forms of communication. Seeing that Seong-ping is depressed, her uncle asks his friend Yuen Yu-mung to teach her Cantonese opera. Seong-ping is a talented pupil and soon wins the appreciation of Lok King-ban, boss of the Lok Tin Teahouse. King-ban asks Seong-ping to perform in the teahouse. Later, Seong-ping learns that Chung-yin's regiment has been annihilated in the war. She falls into a state of depression and becomes seriously ill. During her illness, King-ban nurses Seong-ping and the two become intimate enough to marry. Seong-ping gives birth to a baby boy but when King-ban's teahouse fails, it is his turn to become depressed. Seong-ping returns to live with her uncle. One day, Lei-chung comes calling on her and this causes King-ban to become jealous. A downhearted Seong-ping now decides to re-locate to Guangzhou with her son. The war ends. To make ends meet, Seong-ping assumes the stage name of Yau Chi-yin to work as a song-girl. She meets Chung-yin by chance. Though Chung-yin is willing to resume their relationship, Lei-chung intervenes and spoils the affair. Suffering a wrong, Seong-ping decides to end it all by taking an overdose of pills.
