内容介绍 : | Little Shrimp lives with his mother in straitened circumstances. His father has gone to America to do hard work before Little Shrimp was born, while Little Shrimp's brother has been drafted by the army. One day, Little Shrimp is out hawking on the streets and bumps into the police who are out in force to clamp down on illegal hawkers. Little Shrimp leaves the hawking basket to escape, and is therefore beaten severely by his mother back home. Not willing to endure the pain anymore, he runs away from home and falls into the company of the rogue Doggy Wang. When Wang is arrested for smuggling, Little Shrimp works for gangster Crocodile Head, introduced to him by the prostitute Madam Six. Being smart and resourceful, Little Shrimp works his way up in Crocodile Head gang and becomes his right hand. However, the gang soon comes to grief after one final job which Crocodile Head thinks would set him up in retirement. Pursued by the police, Crocodile Head has to hide while Little Shrimp is arrested. In prison, Little Shrimp meets Niu Zai. Upon their release, he and Niu Zai join Doggy Wang's pickpocket gang. One day, Little Shrimp steals a wallet from a gentleman back from America. He turns out to be Little Shrimp's father and the ten thousand US dollars kept in his wallet is his life savings. As a result, Little Shrimp's father becomes a nervous wreck. Little Shrimp starts to repent. She and Niu Zai resolve to turn a new leaf. (Extracted from the film brochure) |
