内容介绍 : | On Mount Soong are two villages -- Siu Yan and Tai Yan. The Sau clan lives in Tai Yan while the Ma clan lives in Siu Yan. A feud has existed between the two clans. Sau Pak-fung, a maiden from Tai Yan Village is in love with Ma Pak-lok from the Siu Yan Village. These two classmates in secondary school make a secret marriage pact. Though Pak-lok hopes the marriage can resolve the feud between the two families, their elders and kinsfolk are against the match. Pak-fung's father is the chief of the village , tyrannical in his behaviour and feudal in his attitude. He forbids his daughter to have any more contact with Pak-lok, thus the two lovers elop and live in the city. Pak-fung finds a secretarial job in a company and recommends Pak- lok for another position. The two pose as cousins. Their boss has his eye on Pak-fung and on discovering that she is married to Pak-lok, he sends Pak-lok away to collect debts overseas and hires a killer to murder him on the way so that he may possess Pak-fung. When Pak-fung hears of her husband's death, she falls into deep despair. At the same time, news comes that her mother is ill. Pak-fung follows her father home. In fact , the mother's illness is a ruse thought up by the father to get Pak-fung home. She is locked up and is forced to take poison to end her life. Pak-lok, in fact, did not die. After settling scores with the boss, he returns home, only to discover that his wife has died. He rallies the villagers against the tyrannical chief, Pak-fung's father, and finally resolves the hatred feud between the two clans. (Extracted from Screen Voice Pictorial, Issue 161, p.24.) |
