内容介绍 : | Ng Cheung is an ironmonger who lives under the yoke of a local tyrant. His cousin, Kwong Ah-nui, is reliant on him. The two fall in love and pledge their love under the Seven Mile Bridge. At their wedding banquet, Ah-nui's brother, Choi, turns up, asking to be sheltered from the tyrant's bullies. Instead, the bullies arrive to catch him, arresting also Ng Cheung for sheltering Choi. Ah-nui runs after the men but is pushed down the Seven Mile Bridge and is presumed drownScript Continuity Choi and Cheung are put into a dark cell. They get to know One-eyed Shun, a guerrilla, in the jail and plot to escape. Having escaped, Ng Cheung and Choi set out to find Ah-nui, but to no avail. They join the guerrillas. Ah-nui, in fact, is saved by a fisherman. Having failed to find Cheung, she becomes a song girl. A secret agent, Fung On, is attracted to Ah-nui and rapes her. Ah-nui puts up with the assault, biding time for revenge. She finally has her chance, exploiting the tyrant to kill On. One-eyed Shun and his guerrillas launch an attack on the tyrant, who tries to run away taking along Ah-nui as hostage. The tyrant and Ah-nui are caught by Cheung, who berates Ah-nui for being unchaste . Ah-nui breaks away in anger and gets killed by an oncoming train. When Cheung finally learns about Ah-nui's plight, it is already too late to bring her back to life. (Extracted from the film brochure.) |
