内容介绍 :	Cheung Hung-chim is a man of letters, who loves neither fame nor wealth but flowers. On the Chinese Lantern Festival, he invites his best friends to enjoy the scenes of blooming flowers at his courtyard. His wife goes to worship at Po Tor Temple, where Chiu Kwong, son of the county magistrate, takes liberties with her, Fortunately Cheung comes in time to stop him. Chiu is upset and leaves. His father plans to retaliate, but can do nothing because Cheung is highly venerated locally and no evidence is found to make any false charge against him. One of Cheung's friends, Teacher Fan, has been beaten to death by the county magistrate for having no money to pay the tax. Cheung, angry at the county magistrate's cruelty, makes appeals for the victim to the provincial court. But the county magistrate bribes his superiors and they protect each other. The county magistrate regards Cheung as a thorn in his flesh and makes a false charge against him, saying that Cheung has killed somebody who has witnessed his attempted rape. Cheung, arrested, is helped by a maid of the county magistrate and escapes. Pursued by soldiers, he is once again rescued by a girl with the family name Sze, who, as it turns out, is the Fairy of Flowers. She , admiring greatly the kind-heartedness of Cheung and his love for flowers, arranges a reunion for Cheung with his wife. Yet Chiu comes again and tries to harass Cheung's wife. Cheung resists and kills him unintentionally. The county magistrate, to avenge for his son, arrests and sends Cheung to the provincial government for capital punishment, but the Fairy of Flowers comes to rescue again, and the couple of Cheung thus run away from the county.
