内容介绍 : | During the Southern Sung Dynasty, there is a famous singing girl called So Siu-siu. She has exceptional talent and distinguished appearance, as well as righteousness. So she enjoys a good reputation. One day, Siu-siu meets the premier's son Yuen Yuk. They fall in love at the first sight. Yuk marries Siu-siu without acknowledging his parents. They live happily after marriage. One day, Siu-siu meets a poor scholar Pao Yan beside the grave of Ngok Fei (a patriotic general of Sung Dynasty). He is singing about his feelings, so she learns that he has unrecognized talents. She gives him some money generously and encourages him to attend the imperial examination in order to achieve his will. At the same time, the new prefect Meng Long covets after Siu-siu's beauty. He orders her to go to his place by force. Fortunately Yuk saves her promptly. Yuk's father comes back from the capital city. The prefect goes to welcome him and he gets the chance to take revenge. He says that Yuk has indulged in women and spends without limit. Yuk's father is very angry. He takes Yuk back home from Siu -siu's place. Then he forces Yuk to marry another woman. Yuk flees at night but unfortunately he slips to death. Siu-siu misses Yuk night and day. She is so depressed that she gets sick. Pao Yan passes the examination and goes to thank Siu-siu. Siu-siu is shocked by the news brought by Pao Yan that Yuk has died. She has lost all the meaning of living anymore. Before her death, she asks Pao Yan to sing for her once again. She then passes away in sorrowful music. |
