内容介绍 :	Kin-ping asks his good friend Chau-tung, a son of rich parents, to take care of his cousin Fung-ying before he leaves for Guangzhou to pursue his study. Unexpectedly, Fung-ying and Chau-tung fall to each other. Kin-ping is very sad as he loves Fung-ying deeply. Chau-tung's mother does not like poor people. She originally wants her son to marry Yin-yu. Chau-tung is able to marry Fung-ying because his father is quite open-minded. Unfortunately, his father dies soon afterwards and her mother treats Fung-ying as a slave. Chau-tung is even forced to take in Yin-yu as a concubine. He is too coward to resist. Fung-ying and her baby boy thus live in isolation. Yin-yu is a wicked woman. Fearing that Fung-ying and Chau-tung will see each other, she accompanies Chau-tung to do business in Guilin, with the consent from her mother-in-law. After their departure , Chau-tung's mother snatches away Fung-ying's baby and Fung-ying becomes even lonelier. Kin-ping comes to visit Fung-ying. His visit is photographed by Yin-yu's brother. They are accused of having illicit affairs. Chau-tung is called back by his mother and he believes that his wife is unfaithful to him. Fung-ying is expelled from the family even though she is pregnant. Heartbroken, she commits suicide by jumping into the river.
