内容介绍 : | The Turks in the north invade China, Hua Hu receives an edict commanding him to fight at the front, but he is now old and sick. His daughter Hua Mulan, who can fight very well, volunteers to go in place of her father. Hua Hu refuses. Mulan disguises herself as a male friend of her cousin, Hua Ming. She defeats her father in a duel and finally Hua Hu lets her fight the Turks in his place. Mulan disguises herself as a man and joins the army with Hua Ming. Mulan fights well and gains merit. She is promoted to General and fights alongside General Li Guang. She has already befriended Li Guang since she joined the army. Li Guang is quite sincere to her and she falls in love with him. Not knowing Mulan is a woman, Li Guang only treats her as a friend. Mulan has left home for twelve years but the war with the Turks persists. One night, Mulan sees a flock of crows leaving the Turkish camps for the Chinese camps. Mulan senses that the Turks will attack and she reports to Commander He immediately. The Turks do attack that night but are defeated by the well-prepared Chinese, and the Turks' king is captured alive by Mulan. She comes first on the list of merit. Commander He proposes to betrothe her daughter to Mulan but how can two women wed? Li Guang asks Mulan why she does not accept the marriage proposal gladly. She replies that she only wants to marry someone like Li Guang, but Li Guang does not understand what she means. Mulan refuses an official post and returns home. Li Guang is sent by the government to invite Mulan to an official post and to persuade her to marry the daughter of Commander He. Mulan, in female clothes, welcomes Li Guang and he is shocked. Mulan and Li Guang confess their love and exchange gifts with which they pledge to marry after Li Guang returns from the capital. |
