内容介绍 :	Minister To Kwok-wah is stationed away from home in the capital while his wife, Lee Yu-sheung, who is kind and generous, takes care of their family alone. Their son Tzi-hang is in poor health. After nursing Tzi-hang back to health, Lee decides to dedicate herself to the worship of Buddha. Lee suggests that Dou should take a concubine so that the family will still be well looked after. In his spare time, Tzi-hang has been teaching the poor children of the village to read and write. The smartest among these children is an orphaned girl called Siu- tsui, who lives with her stepmother Chu. Chu is having an affair with her cousin, Tsui Tzi-kei. When Tzi-kei learns that To is looking for a concubine, he bribes the matchmaker, Liu, to recommend Chu. Chu leaves to become To's concubine, leaving Siu-tsui to fend for herself. Luckily, their neighbour Bill takes care of her, and later, Lee adopts her. After To returned to work in the capital, Tzi-kei virtually takes over the To family fortune. He continues his affair with Chu, but Siu-tsui sees them. Chu attempts to poison Siu-tsui and Lee, but ends up poisoning Tzi-kei. Chu blames Lee for the crime and bribes the magistrate to make Lee confess. In desperation, Tzi-hang sends Bill to ask his father for help. To hurries home and gives Lee a retrial. Lee is found innocent. To regrets having taken a concubine.
