内容介绍 : | A beauty from Ho Pak, Yan Yuen-ching, after being rescued by Cho Bei, stays temporarily with the Chos. The head of the family is Lord Ngai, father of the Cho brothers. Cho Chik and Yan Yuen-ching are lovers but Chik's elder brother Bei schemes to usurp both his love and the throne. Bei proposes to Ching and Lord Ngai consents to the marriage. Since Chik is Lord Ngai's favourite, Bei is worried that the Lord may pass his title on to the younger son instead of the eldest, himself, so he becomes very jealous of Chik. On the wedding night Bei, after a few drinks, reveals to Ching his dark secret, which is to get Chik out of his way. Ching is alarmed and in desperation decides to meet with Chik to warn him of the danger. Unfortunately, Lord Ngai discovers the rendezvous and Chik is exiled. Upon ascending the throne, Bei challenges Chik to compose a poem within seven footsteps. After failing in many attempts to kill Chik, Bei forces Ching to write to Chik to lure him back to the capital. When Chik finally returns, Ching realises the gravity of the situation and decides to reveal Bei's plot. Bei is furious at Fok's disloyalty and making Ching drink poisonous wine. In her dying moment, Ching pleads for the brothers' reconciliation. Ching transforms into the Nymph of River Lo to rejoin Chik. |
