内容介绍 :	See Siu -fung and Lai Oi-lin are originally twin sisters, yet they are separated from each other due to disturbances caused by war. One lives in a village and another lives in the city. Siu-fung has lived with her mother ever since she is a child. When she has grown up, her mother arranges for her to marry into the Ko's family, as a guarantee for her future. The Ko's family is a large family in the village. The son Ko Wai-man receives his education in the city. He does not know the arrangement of the family. He goes back to the village intending to tell his family that he will marry Lai Oi-lin, the daughter of a general in the city. Having realized his parents' arrangement, he is very furious. Although he cannot stop the forced marriage, he disappears on the day when the bridal sedan chair enters the Ko's family, namely, the wedding day. Siu-fung is forced to undergo the kneeling ritual in the ceremonial hall with a cock. After she marries into the Ko's family, her mother-in-law is extremely pleased to have such a daughter-in-law. But she never meets her husband. On the other hand, Wai-man marries Lai Oi-lin in the city . Yet, he does not live happily since Oi-lin has a temperament of a rich family's daughter. Persuaded by his friend Tung-sheng, he goes back to the village to meet Siu-fung. When he gets along with her, he discovers that she is virtuous, kind and genial. So he goes back to the city to explain the issue to Oi-lin. Oi-lin refuses to accept Siu-fung. Moreover, she is overbearing and she forces Wai-man to break off the husband-and-wife relation with Siu-fung. She even makes a threat of hurting her unborn child in front of the Ko's family. Unfortunately, the threat turns into reality and she dies. Before she dies, the twins recognize each other.
