内容介绍 : | Tang Bo-hu, the top scholar in the South, has no interest in fame and fortune but likes to travel. One day, he sees Minister Hua's wife going into a temple accompanied by her maid, Chiu Hsiang. Chiu Hsiang smiles at him. Bo-hu is spellbound. Chiu Hsiang leaves and Bo-hu follows her by boat. Chiu Hsiang looks out, and pours a washbasin of water on him. She smiles again. Afterwards, Bo-hu sees Chiu Hsiang in a market. She leaves with another smile. The three smiles of Chiu Hsiang make Bo-hu decide to marry her. Bo-hu hires himself out to the Minister as a servant. The Minister renames him as Hua An. The Minister's second concubine is Bo-hu's cousin. She sees why Bo-hu is there and advises him to give up, but he will not yield. Bo-hu collides with Chiu Hsiang. He tells her that he is indeed the scholar Tang Bo-hu, and he came to marry her. She does not believe him. The Minister's two sons have made much progress in their studies. Their tutor believes that it is due to him, so he immediately reports to the Minister. The Minister asks for an impromptu essay from his sons, but they cannot even write out a word. The fact is, Bo-hu wrote all the essays. The tutor is so furious that he resigns. Bo-hu then replaces him. After a few months, one day, Bo-hu's friend, Chu Chi-san comes to search for Bo-hu, who had disappeared for several months, and to meet the tutor, Hua An, who is said to be very clever. When Chi- shan sees Bo-hu, he tells him a plan. Then Bo-hu tells the Minister that he wants to leave. The Minister wants to keep him, so he lets him take any one maid to be his wife. Bo-hu picks Chiu Hsiang, and escapes to return home with her. |
