内容介绍 :	It rains on the day when Wai-leung is married, and while seeking shelter in a roadside pavilion, she wraps a golden hairpin in a colourful cloth and gives it to a poor girl whose marriage also falls on the same day. Wai's married life is filled with bliss and happiness. Three years later, her husband, Kwok Ming-cheung, receives orders as ambassador to another country. Ming's cousin, Kwok Hung, covets Wai's beauty and wants to rape her, but in vain. So he says that Wai has committed adultery and drives her away from home. When Ming hears the news, he returns home to investigate. Though he tries to vouch for Wai's fidelity, Hung poisons him with drugs, which cause him to develop a kind of skin disease like leprosy. Ming is angry with Wai for causing all this. He is also ashamed of his skin disease and leaves home as a beggar. Wai tries to drown herself in the river, and is saved by Cheung Shun-ching and his wife. They take her in as domestic helper. It turns out Shun's wife is the poor girl to whom Wai gave the golden hairpin. Using Wai's gift as capital, Shun and his wife are able to practice medicine and do business, which has brought them great wealth. They built a shrine to store the colourful cloth in remembrance of Wai's kindness. When Shun is passing out rice to the poor during a charitable event, he meets Ming, tells him his skin disease has nothing to do with leprosy, and cures him completely. After Ming has reported his mission to the Imperial Court, he returns and looks for Shun. There he meets Wai again. Hung is punished for his wrongdoing, and Ming is reunited with Wai.
