内容介绍 :	Ko Chi-fung, a relative, lives with the rich To family. Fung's cousin, Man-yee, is very fond of him but Fung does not have the slightest interest in her as he is in love with Wong Pui-ying, the daughter of the gardener, who works for the Ching family. Fung has a friend, Ching Lap-man, whose sister, Suet-ming, comes from Singapore. Man thinks that his friend and sister would make a good match and tries hard to make this materialise, but fails. On one occasion, Fung uses the excuse of going to the university ball, to secretly slip out to see Ying on a stormy night. Under the influence of alcohol and the romantic ambience, they lose control and have a physical relationship. Man and his sister have to return home because their father is seriously ill. Another cousin of Fung, Yee's brother Wai, has long been attracted to Ying. On one occasion he even tries to rape her, later making the excuse that he was half drunk. Fortunately, Fung rescues Ying. Disillusioned with his Uncle, Fung finally leaves the To family. With Ying's help, he moves to Singapore. When Ying realises that she is pregnant, her friend, the Ching family's chauffeur , Tak, offers help by becoming her lover to cover for her secret relationship with Fung. This leads to both of them losing their jobs. After a marriage on paper only, Ying stays with Tak and gives birth to a son. Wai's pathological gambling and his behaviour accelerates his father's death and the house is repossessed. After the family breaks up, Wai becomes a thief and Yee a call girl. When Fung returns from Singapore, he is annoyed with Ying for being disloyal to him and denies his own flesh and blood. It is only when Tak explains the whole situation that Fung realises the pain Ying has been through and begs her forgiveness. The broken relationship is therefore rebuilt.
