内容介绍 : | The West Ha barbarians intrude into Song territory and the Song are unable to put up a military resistance. In a court full of selfish officials, Official Kau Chun is the only one loyal enough to believe that the Yeung family has the ability to boost the soldiers' morale so they will fight against the barbarians. He is so desperate that he even threatens the Yeung family with his own life to make them promise to take the lead again. When the barbarian soldiers are approaching the capital, the Yeungs see the imminent danger and finally agree to take up the assignment. Muk Kwai-ying , the sister-in-law, is made Commander-in-Chief and her son, Man-kwong, the Field Commander. The Yeung's collective effort results in immediate victory. The barbarian King is agitated and plans a strategic fighting arrangement, the Five Dragon Formation, to challenge the Yeung soldiers, but this is soon broken up as the Yeungs successfully disperse and attack the barbarians from five different directions. When the barbarian Princess, Thousand Flowers, enters the battle, she is immediately attracted to Kwong. She then uses hypnotic power to defeat him and force from him a promise of marriage. Kwong states that he would agree to marriage only on the condition that the King will promise not to attack the Song Territories again. The Princess accepts without reservation. However, when she returns to put this proposal to her father, she is reprimanded and forced into exile. The Princess then seeks refuge with Kwong. Ying, however, decides that what the two young lovers had done on the battlefield had violated military law, and that their crime should be punished by death. At the moment of execution, Grandma Yeung fortunately arrives in time to plead for clemency and to save Kwong. At that time, the barbarian King, persuaded by the Queen, agrees to call for peace and for the marriage of his daughter to Kwong. Kwong is credited for bringing peace and acquitted of treachery. |
