内容介绍 :	On December 12, 1989, the Hong Kong Government announces her policy of force repatriation of Vietnam's boat people. This creates international outburst and Rubie's idol , Liv Ulman, attacks this policy, too. Rubie writes a letter to Liv to express her discontent. In the letter, she talks about the shock that the June 4 Massacre brings to Hong Kong people and people emigrate as a result. She also talks about Hong Kong's force repatriation of China's refugees, USA's hypocrisy and the inhuman system of Hong Kong. In the meantime, her younger brother, Tony, wants to emigrate to Australia with his girlfriend, who is older, in order to avoid people's gossip. However , his mother objects. Rubie herself also wants to leave Hong Kong but her boyfriend is unwilling to do so. And because of that, they always quarrel. Rubie thinks that no matter stay or leave, she will inevitable becomes a refugee. Thus, she does not know what to do. One day, Rubie talk about this with Mrs Elsie To. Mrs To says that she has a date with history and with the year 1997. She makes contributions to Hong Kong for over a decade and she has responsibility to stay and see what Hong Kong becomes. Rubie is scared to unconsious by her boyfriend's prank. Then she realizes that as long as they are together, any place on earth will do.
