内容介绍 : | Because of poverty, Cheung Kit-ying is forced to borrow a high-interest loan. Although she works as a taxi dancer, she still finds it difficult to repay the debt. Local ruffian Prince Yam forces Ying to become a prostitute, but Ying refuses. Yam then sends people to pour corrosive liquid on Ying. Ying is fortunate to run away in time and obtain the help from Fong Wai, a bus driver, who sends her to hospital. Wai and his colleague Lee Kuen, Ying's former neighbour, redeem Ying from the clutches of Yam. Kuen decides to save Ying by providing her with refuge. Because Wai lets Ying have his bedroom, Ying is moved and specially cares for him. But as Wai has prejudice against taxi dancers, he frequently makes Ying embarrassed. Later, when he has understood Ying's situation, he begins to develop his relationship with Ying. Kuen's wife has died in early years and left behind three children who are raised by Kuen's mother. Ying loves only Wai, signalling Kuen's quiet withdrawal. On the wedding day, Yam and his gang arrive and destroy the wedding. He beats Kuen severely, who is then saved by Wai. But Wai is hit by a car maneuvered by Yam and his gang. The doctor suggests that he uses an artificial leg, but the cost is so high that Ying decides to become a taxi dancer again and raise the fund as soon as possible. When Wai realizes this, he takes it to heart and intends to kill himself. Kuen calls on fellow drivers to deal with Yam and helps Wai through his rehabilitation. |
