内容介绍 :	The young master of the Lan family Chau-wah and his best friend Kim meet the orphan Heung-wan when they make their lodging in an inn. They then understand that she is going to meet her fiance and her destination is Tung Ting county, which is exactly Chau-wah's hometown. Chau-wah thus goes there with her. On the way, Chau-wah expresses his love to Heung-wan. But as she has a fiance already, Chau-wah cannot do anything but sighs that they happen to meet each other too late. After he has returned home, Chau-wah is told by his mother that the person to whom Heung -wan is going to marry is, in fact, Chau-wah himself. The couple are pleased when they hear this news. In the wedding banquet, Heung-wan is scared when she meets Chau-wah's elder brother Chau-wing. It turns out that once in the past, Chau-wing intended to rape Heung-wan, who resisted and ran away. Chau-wing is thus embarrassed in the banquet. Fong, his wife, has an affair with her housekeeper Fai. When Heung-wan has moved to live with Chau-wah's family, Fong fears that Heung-wan might discover her affair with Fai. She thus makes use of the opportunity that Chau-wah has gone elsewhere to study and instigates Chau-wah's mother to shout at Heung- wan. Heung-wan nurses grievances. Fai wants to rape Heung-wan, but instead kills Chau-wah's mother by mistake. He then co-operates with Fong in a plot to accuse Heung-wan for murder. Heung-wan is put into prison unjustly. Chau-wing and his wife take exclusive possession of the family fortune and expel Chau-wah from the family. Chau-wah is fortunate to have been helped by Kim. But they are unable to plead the county official Chin-ching to have mercy on Heung-wan. Chin intends to make Heung-wan his concubine but is refused by Heung-wan. Then, Chin forces Chau-wah to abandon his wife. When Heung-wan's sentence is going to be passed soon, Chau- wah meets, by chance, the inspector from the imperial capital and takes the opportunity to voice his grievance. The truth finally comes to light. Chau-wah and Heung-wan are able to set up their family in the end.
