内容介绍 :	In the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, little Ching Yuet-kwong has to suffer the pain brought about by the loss of her father. She and her mother become dependent on each other ever since then. Fortunately, she gets help from her neighbour Chan, a teacher. Without the teacher's help, she and her mother would have many difficulties in their living. Later when Chan moves to live in the school hostel, Ching's mother re-marries. She hopes that by marrying Ah Ngau, the owner of a grocery store, Yuet-kwong can continue her education. Ah Ngau's wife has been dead for many years and he has one son. After their marriage, Ah Ngau gets disgusted with Yuet-kwong and even refuses to allow her to go on with her study. Yuet-kwong has no choice but endures. Luckily, Chan succeeds in persuading Ah Ngau and Yuet-kwong regains the chance to go back to school. Being diligent and promising, Yuet-kwong gains outstanding academic results. But in doing so, she has induced jealousy among her schoolmates, who not only reject Yuet-kwong repeatedly, but also shift the blame on her by accusing her that she has stolen others' possessions. Yuet-kwong is even beaten bitterly by Chan. Fortunately, the truth of the incident finally comes into light. Yuet-kwong does not resent her schoolmates; she even goes so far as to help them plead for mercy. Her schoolmates are moved and mend their ways. As a result of good conduct and academic performance, Yuet-kwong and her younger brother receive scholarships that enable them to study in the provincial town. By this time, Ah Ngau has changed his views on Yuet-kwong and feels sorry and guilty about his past behaviour. The grievances which Yuet-kwong has suffered for many years are finally redressed.
