内容介绍 :	Lau Yi-lan and her mother are very close to each other and have no more relatives to depend on. They maintain their living by operating a small store. Her mother has offended a teddy boy called Lau Tai -sum and the knave gives the poor woman a hard beating-up, resulting in her severe injuries and eventual tragic death. Before she dies, the dying mother urges her daughter to go to seek refuge with her own father Lau Pak-sing, who actually abandoned the mother and the daughter. After the funeral service of her mother, Yi-lan goes at once to look for her father. Pak-sing is definitely delighted to see his daughter; but considering his authoritative and fierce wife, he dares not acknowledge his daughter in front of others and asks her to address him as her uncle. Yi-lan accepts the request, though unwillingly. After she has moved into her father's house, she discovers, much to her chill, that Sum is there and he is her half brother. Sum sneaks into her room at nighttime, trying to rape her. The intrusion startles Pak-sing and the father rushes to her room. He then chases his son, beating and scolding him, but then he slips and rows down the stairs. The fatal fall seriously hurts the old man who dies soon afterwards. In great rage and sorrow, Sum's mother drives Yi-lan away. Luckily the expulsion coincides with the timely arrival of her boyfriend Tung Sau-yan from a trip to his village home; immediately he brings Yi-lan back to his father's house. But then the father has a mistaken attitude towards their interactions and compels them to separate. In the end Yi-lan has to leave quietly. In good fortune she still has her good friend Oi-wah; the latter provides her shelter and even introduces her to work in the factory she is working. But the factory is actually operated by a brother of Sum's mother and managed by Sum. The knave against seizes the chance to take liberties with Yi-lan. Sau-yan arriving at the spot sees the happening. In great agitation, he has a fierce fight with Sum. Oi-wah immediately informs Sum's uncle and the case is resolved. Again Sau-yan takes Yi-lan away and puts her under his care. But then the malicious Sum lies to the police that Sau-yan possesses drugs and the young man is arrested. Yi-lan, feeling helpless, goes to Sau-yan's father for help but the latter takes no heed of her. Oi-wah then suggests Yi-lan to plead Sum but the knave takes the chance to threaten the girl. Sau-yan's mother pays a timely visit to Hong Kong. Getting informed of her son's situation, she urges her husband to go to the police to release their son on bail. In the meantime, the police have carried out an investigation and they find out that Sau-yan is innocent. The boy is then released. When he realizes that Yi-lan is again in danger, he hurries to rescue her. He has a hard struggle with Sum and then many people arrive, including policemen who come to catch the culprit of the drug possessing case. Sum is then brought to justice. Only at that time does Sum's mother discover what is going on and admit her past wrongdoing. So she confirms Yi-lan's position as the daughter of her dead husband. She also, together with the parents of Sau-yan, consents to making the marriage of Yi-lan and Sau-yan a success .
