内容介绍 :	Wong Sai-on is in love with nurse Kong Choi-ping. They decide to marry after he graduates from his studies. The Wongs are a wealthy family of overseas Chinese. The patriarch favours Sai-on's cousin, Lau Wai-sum, as his future daughter-in- law rather than Choi-ping, an orphan. Choi-ping's guardian is her uncle, Dr Choi. Meanwhile, Wai-sum's mother eyes the Wong fortune and conspires to make Sai-on drunk and then sleep with her daughter. Sai-on is thus compelled into marrying Wai-sum. Still in love with Choi-ping, Sai-on plans to elope with her. However, she refuses to go and he turns to drink and becomes ill. Dr Choi consents to cure Sai-on on condition that Choi-ping promises never to see him again. Sai-on recovers and agrees to make a go of his marriage with Wai-sum, while Choi-ping devotes herself to helping the sick in the epidemic region. Sai-on later discovers that he was tricked into marriage and abandons Wai-sum to search for Choi-ping. However, Choi-ping considers the affair irreconcilable and intends to concentrate on her work. Meanwhile, a heartbroken Wai-sum dies. Sai-on also decides to devote himself to serving the community. He goes overseas with a medical service team. (Extracted from the film brochure.)
