内容介绍 : | Fong Wah, a bellboy who comes from a declined rich family, falls in love with Mary, a singer living in the hotel where he works. One night, after being humiliated in the nightclub, Mary returns to her room in a bad mood. She invites Fong Wah to her room for a chat. Wah's superior finds out about the meeting and sacks him for breaking hotel rules. Feeling responsible, Mary decides to leave her occupation and move in with him. Soon, she is pregnant with his child, but Wah is unable to make a living. He eventually becomes a private tutor to Lulu, younger daughter of Mr Wong, manager of a big company. The elder daughter, Lucy, is having an affair with Chan, the company secretary, and is pregnant with his child. To cover up, Lucy wants a sham marriage with Wah. Mary falls ills after giving birth to a son. Needing money for Mary's medical expenses, Wah is forced to marry Lucy. When Mary learns of this, she leaves her child with Wah and departs . Lucy continues her affair with Chan even after her marriage. Wah confronts Chan and during a struggle, the latter falls to his death. Wah is thus imprisoned. Mary takes back her child from Lucy and promises to wait for Wah until he is released. (Extracted from the film brochure.) |
