内容介绍 :	Ling Siu-ngan's wife To Kuen-ming is disposed to fun, and constantly complains of being neglected by Siu-ngan who has been buried in research work. Swayed by the evil influence of Chun-wing, Siu-ngan's stepbrother, Kuen-ming, steals the family jewellery and sets fire on Siu-ngan's laboratory to stop him from working. Kuen-ming is caught by the fire and is burnt to death. Siu-ngan is blinded. The family jewels end up in Chun-wing's hands. Ha Lai-hung, the housekeeper, nurses Siu-ngan. They fall in love and get married on the encouragement of Siu-ngan's mother, Gu-fung. However, Siu- ngan, who is now blind, is unable to work. They lead a difficult life because of Siu-ngan's hefty medical bills, and move into smaller quarters, but Siu-ngan has no knowledge of their plight. One day, Chun-wing and rich businessman To meet Lai-hung on the streets. Chun-wing plots to draw Lai-hung to the side of the lascivious To by promising to introduce her a job. Lai-hung agrees to a meeting with To but manages to keep him at bay. A vindictive Chun-wing meets Siu-ngan and falsely accuses Lai-hung of adultery, bringing Siu-ngan to a hotel to witness his wife's affair with To. A quarrel takes place and Siu-ngan leaves in anger. On the streets , Siu-ngan meets his old friend Lee, an engineer. Lee generously offers cash assistance to Siu-ngan so that he can be healed of his blindness. After his recovery, Siu-ngan returns home to meet Lai-hung and reconciles with her . (Extracted from the film novel.)
