内容介绍 : | Factory girl Luk Siu-ching is in love with a poor teacher, Fong Hung. She is very filial to her old-fashioned father. When Hung asks her to seek her father's consent to their marriage, she is too timid to do so. Factory manager Lau Bong-kei, attracted to Siu-ching , rapes her after making her drunk. When she goes home the next morning, her father disowns her and expels her from the house. Hung tries to see her, but she rejects him. He decides to go away to lead a new life. Siu -ching gives birth to a son, Kim-yan. To bring up the child, she becomes a prostitute. In school, Kim-yan is a top student, but he is bullied by schoolmates who call him "bastard." Siu-ching decides to give up prostitution for the sake of her son. Hung, now married, teaches at the school where Kim-yan studies. His daughter, Wai-ching, also studies at the same school. Bong-kei is now a member of the school board. His son, Chung-ling, is also a student in the same school. Chung-ling courts Wai-ching and looks upon Kim-yan as his rival. He asks his father to expose Kim-yan and his mother's background. Hung defends Kim-yan and when he visits Kim-yan at home, he meets Siu-ching. Kim-yan earns a scholarship to study in university. Siu-ching decides that it is time to tell his son the truth. At the graduation ceremony, Bong-kei delivers a speech on virtues and morals. Kim-yan throws his scholarship award to the ground in anger and exposes Bong-kei hypocrisy. (Extracted from the film novel) |
