内容介绍 :	Xiao Laba (Little Trumpet) plays the trumpet in a band. The girl he loves is Ah Cui, a textile factory girl. Both are looking forward to getting married, but they are poor and Laba is too proud to accept help. To earn extra money, he starts a hawker stall selling wonton. However, the hard-earned money is used to pay the medical fees of Ah Cui's father who is injured from a fall. The wedding day is postponed while both work hard to save money . But the money is never enough. The partners thus opt for a low-key wedding, hoping only to use the money for a house. But the search for a home proves too difficult. Ah Cui's father is willing to give up his squatter hut to the newlyweds, telling her that he will move to his friend's home. In fact, the father sets up quarters in the streets. Laba finds out and brings him home. Laba builds his own squatter hut out of soap boxes, but the hut is pulled down by the landlord, thus further postponing the wedding. Finally, Ah Cui's workmates decide to pool resources and arrange for the couple to have a newly decorated room in their dormitory. Thus, Laba realises that collective team effort can solve problems where the individual cannot. Ah Cui and Laba are at last married. (Extracted from the film brochure.)
