内容介绍 :	The patriarch of a declining family demands that his son, Mang Ming, marry Yee-ha, from a family that is well-matched in social and economic status. Similarly, the patriarch forces daughter Tai-fung into an arranged marriage. Mang Ming's cousin Suk-man returns from overseas, carrying progressive ideas, and encourages Ming to stand firm to his ideals and become a useful member of society. They fall in love. Meanwhile, Yee-ha has an affair with a cousin with whom she runs away, not before tricking the old partriarch of his fortune . The old man finally realises his mistake, and acknowledges that marriage should be a matter for the children to decide. He gives his blessing to Mang Ming and Suk-man. (Based on newspaper advertisements.)
