内容介绍 :	Lord Chun is a retreated warlord. He intends to arrange a wedding for his sickly son Pak-hon. He asks his daughter Chi-fung to propose to Ying-suet, daughter of his ex-gardener So Lo-chuen. Ying -suet is in love with Tso Fung-cheung. She is pregnant when Fung-cheung is thinking of seeking his fortune in the city. For the sake of her lover, and as her father is desperately in need of money to pay the landlord, Ying-suet agrees to marry Pak-hon. Fung-cheung is invited to attend Pak-hon's wedding. But when he discovers that the bride is Ying-suet, he makes a scene and is expelled. Inside the bridal chamber, Ying-suet tells the ailing Pak-hon her story and wins Pak-hon's sympathy. They decide to engage in a bogus marriage. Several months later, when Lord Chun finds out that Ying-suet is pregnant, he is over-joyed. He makes Ying- suet the custodian of the house, a decision that only Lord Chun's second son Chung-yu supports. Ying-suet gives birth to a daughter when Pak-hon is now on the verge of death. Before he dies, he divulges Ying-suet's secret to Chi-fung, who then schemes to usurp power from Ying-suet. Lord Chun's health deteriorates after he loses his son. Later, he dies. A power struggle erupts between the Chuns for the possession of the family fortune. Ying-suet finds herself a victim of the struggle. (To be continued in Part Two.) (Based on viewing of the film.)
